What does being Open Mindful mean to you???

Liberal and Open Minded to me almost seem to be pseudonyms. I would guess it could be possible to be conservative and open minded, just in my eyes those two ideals seem to be juxtaposed. What in my upbringing and brain, elicits this open minded worldly outlook, and positive, friendly mindset??? It could have either been my parental affluent hippie 60's upbringing or perhaps my University Liberal Arts Education, or yet again my 5 full years of daily life in Manhattan and the mecca that is New York City. What does being Liberal and Open Minded mean to you?? Personally I think of it as being accepting of many different lifestyle choices and varieties. For example, I am pro choice and pro abortion for women before the 2nd trimester. I am pro gay marriage, for both male and female sexes. Room for Improvement?

Are you a curmudgeon whom is sedentary, conservative & content in their ways? Don't be. Are you unresponsive or willing to change? Does the heartfelt, honest critiques from others, make you feel cared for, or do you shun critiques by the wayside? In my personal experiences, both professional, socially, athletically, education wise , and all strongly believe, we as humans should remain OPEN MINDFUL to improvement ! We only have 1 full life to live, so why not, like the Army slogan, "be the best you can be." I really never thought I would ever promote or use a military item in this online publication. How much should we CARE? Do you care at all?

Lately, I've been watching television, the news, and of course I have been living in our modern American society. Personally, I have noticed a spotlight and showcase, towards these "HUMAN INTEREST & FEELINGS" stories. For example, the kids who volunteers for the homeless shelter. The stranger who donates a kidney to his neighbor. The university educated professor, whom teaches poor city youths part time. The Artist whom gives a free lesson and class to the public. Etc. Etc. Etc. Here is my inquiry and question for you, our loyal OPEN MINDFUL reader. How much should we care? How much do you care? I sometimes have a hard time finding these human interest stories compelling and usually would rather skip to a fresh entertainment story or watch some comedy or action. What do you think?
