Open Mindful to Gun Control?

Image
Obviously, as a free spirited American, I am an avid fan of the United States of America and it's constitution and freedoms. For example, this is a creative, thoughtful blog, and a real life example of the Constitution's 1st Amendment. This 1st Amendment gives us law abiding citizens, the rights and freedom to speech, religion and other items. Thus, I believe the Constitution is a very OLD and DATED document. As we are aware, our current world is always adapting & changing. The constitution, created in the years of the 1700s' is just plain old, antique like and in some cases, wrong. The point, I'm trying to make here, is the 2nd amendment, "the right to bear arms," i.e. guns & rifles, is no longer necessary. This right ought to be seriously adjusted to modern times. I think, it should be much more difficult to acquire and purchase guns. There should be new stringent laws, education and licensing required to become a gun owner. I also believe there...

Does where you geographically live, change who you are?

Image
Recently one of my closer and better friends from New York City noticed a change in my personal "look" & appearance, while socializing on facebook. Mind you, this friend of mine is very bi-sexual, and hooks up with both men and women. He suggested a previous different look of mine was preferential. I tried to inform him, that the current look, was an edgy, fun, hipster type thing. He disagreed & countered saying it was a completely Austin thing. Thus, this got me wondering again, are we OPEN MINDFUL to cultural and physical changes, depending on where we geographically live? Does where one live, alter their emotional and physically mindset and physical appearance? Like animals, yes we do physically adapt to our surroundings, and also can change culturally and physically to fit in. Like an actor or an actress, we are all capable of different looks! For example, would a rural culture, turn someone into a cowboy? Would an edgy, urban lifestyle strongly entice som...

What is the best way to live?

Image
In my humble opinion, people who are open mindful to new lifestyles, possibilities and ways to live, may have more enriched souls. Do you agree? Do you disagree? Are you indifferent to this idealogy? For example, personally I am an avid fan of the city slicker lifestyle. For example I love people, culture, diversity, nightlife, fashion, girls, music, and action in general. The city slicker lifestyle includes the ease of physically walking and biking to multiple venues, grocery stores, bars, parks and more. Am I being closed minded to other lifestyles? Am I missing something? Is there a better way to be? Do you have any viable suggestions? For example, is the ranch and country lifestyle a quality one? Is it more peaceful, carefree, economical, earthy and sincere? Is the alternative, edgy and hipster lifestyle the way to go? I would characterize this lifestyle to include cusp neighborhoods, controversial fashion, questionable behavior, fun nights and creative work. What...

OPEN MINDFUL to a Variety in Dominance?

Image
Are we as a society and citizenry sometimes guilty of being close-minded and stuck in our own ways, when it comes to workplace opportunities and possibilities? Are you married to a career? Are you close minded to what you think is the best job for you? Could it be possible to have misfired on your calling?? One prime example I believe to being and remaining open mindful to SUCCESS and opportunity in various, far ranging industries is the celebrity, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now, we can all admit he is no role model in the domestic or female relationship department, in fact in this area he is one of the worst, with a plethora of infidelities, problems and more..but...moving along... Arnold Schwarzenegger is a prime example that when using god given talents to the fullest, along with hard work and perseverance, one can accomplish a lot. Arnold was OPEN MINDFUL to new industries, in his diverse, entertaining and fantastic professional career. For example Arnold proved to be an outsta...

Open Mindful to New Activities & Places??

Image
Do we sometimes get set in our ways?? Are you a "regular" somewhere?? Are you a Routine Person? Do you like to keep it Fresh and Mix it up?? Like the 80's TV show, CHEERS, is their a place where everyone knows your name?? For example, one could be a regular at the Gym, the Yoga Studio, The library, the Park, a Video Store?? I think sometimes we are all guilty of going to, attending, visiting and hanging out, at the SAME places, stores and business we feel comfortable in. Sometimes this is okay and completely permissible. Also if you have found a FANTASTIC place, venue, bar, park, that is worth it, and we're unaware of, please comment and include the OPEN MINDFUL audience. If happiness to you, is being a regular at your favorite place, then by all means, the USA is free country and your are more than welcome to. Yet, as a free citizen too, would like to recommend we as a society, use our freedoms & powers as consumers to become OPEN MINDFUL to NEW PLACES, V...

Are we OPEN MINDFUL to new & different CULTURES??

Image
As an individual, do you personally feel your remaining OPEN MINDFUL to different lifestyles and cultures? Are you set in your ways? Are you stubborn?? Personally, I can describe experiencing first-hand a few select and special cities, countries and locations. For example, in Spain, the fashion, moped, coffee, siesta, and smoking cafe culture was quite prominent. In Spain instead of working a straight 9-5, they take a mid day siesta & lengthy pause from 1 to 3 pm. This siesta seemed to give the day a healthy break, before resuming in full economic force at 4pm with store re-openings and such. Is the siesta or mid day break something we in America, maybe could use a bit of?? Anther personal example would be daily break neck speed and constant energy of Manhattan. In so far as culture, it's best described as an immensely populated, cool, edgy, fun, professional, fashionable & lively island on "eight cups of coffee". Personally I truly enjoyed their "WALKIN...

OPEN MINDFUL to Life Long Commitment???

Image
Our subject today is the worldwide institution of marriage between 2 people. Either Traditional Straight or Gay or Whatever?? Do you still believe in institutional marriage? Is it a beneficial thing? Is it the Answer we're all striving for?? Does it improve the overall quality of life? Is Marriage, Something to be Avoided?? Is it simply a "stage" of life?? OR do you feel with the sheer number of attractive people worldwide that entertaining the field, dating, and remaining OPEN minded to the market and NEW people is preferable?? In another marriage version and model, I think in the Mormon religion and faith, with marriage comes MULTIPLE wives for a husband. This method of marriage with multiple wives also seems to be able to produce and sustain a family. Are the others versions of life long partnerships and commitment , I'm leaving out?? If so, feel free to comment and chime in. If there are, it would be great to be enlightened. It would be welcoming to lear...

What does being Open Mindful mean to you???

Image
Liberal and Open Minded to me almost seem to be pseudonyms. I would guess it could be possible to be conservative and open minded, just in my eyes those two ideals seem to be juxtaposed. What in my upbringing and brain, elicits this open minded worldly outlook, and positive, friendly mindset??? It could have either been my parental affluent hippie 60's upbringing or perhaps my University Liberal Arts Education, or yet again my 5 full years of daily life in Manhattan and the mecca that is New York City. What does being Liberal and Open Minded mean to you?? Personally I think of it as being accepting of many different lifestyle choices and varieties. For example, I am pro choice and pro abortion for women before the 2nd trimester. I am pro gay marriage, for both male and female sexes. Being a Free Speech & Born here American, I also believe in the freedom of style, culture, home location, choices in dating, restaurants, music, culture, movies, music and all. Anythi...
