Be the voice of reason, in the sea of insanity. If you see a wrong, make it a right. If you get a chance to help a fellow human being, just do it. We're all part of this crazy, human, terminal experience and it may not seem this way to you, but the universe is unfolding exactly how it should be. And I know it to be true because I find myself living in a community of like-minded individuals who all have the same hopes, fears, dreams and ideals and I have. And together we can better this a better place to live. Read more: http://www.kprcradio.com/onair/outlaw-dave-25379/#ixzz3ch9EhbaS Call: 713-212...

Anticipation.

Image
Anticipation. Is it worth it? Anticipation will either get you hyped up for a life event in a positive way, or it may let you down. Today, I'm wondering if the potential future "Life events" for me, and their anticipation will be fantastic? Or will they just let me down. For example, if I ever got married, would that be spectacular or would it let me down. In the event of a planned fatherhood, would being a dad, and having a child be rewarding, OR would that let me down. Would being rich do the trick? Or would that let me down? Would traveling the world be mind boggling? Or would that let me down? Do you see where I am going with this? In talking about ANTICIPATION, sometimes it is worth the HYPE. Often times it is not. For example, the anticipation of your band's live music show, only to be let down by the performance. Or perhaps your favorite athletic or alumni team, whom shows promise, but loses. How do you feel about the whole Anticipation element...

The SUPERFICIAL Life.

Image
How do you feel about SUPERFICIALITY? Do you notice it? Have you ever been caught admiring it, or perhaps been guilty practicing it? Do you feel being SUPERFICIAL is a tolerable honest way to think, or does being superficial co-notate negative emotions? What do we mean by this? Well, Superficial for our purposes today, means valuing beauty and monetary wealth over the "regular" life. A Superficial person would pursue rich friends. A Superficial person would only attend classy establishments & events. A Superficial person would value physical looks above all other human qualities. A superficial person would most likely judge another strictly on outward image. Perhaps some cities promote a superficial lifestyle more than others. For example Dallas, Texas and Los Angeles, California, come to mind. One thinks bigger is better, and the latter is the birthplace of plastic surgery, fake breasts, and celebrity. Let's be honest, all of us humans are superficial to a cer...

Remember your HEALTH

Image
I believe there is well known saying, that "Death is just a rumor to the young" The point of this quote is not to be morbid, but to remind yourself that as a living, breathing mammal and human organism, you too are susceptible to life's aging process and timetables. On a side-note, I believe in the worldly theories of evolution. Now, I'm not advising you or anyone to go overboard on the super health craze phenomenon, (gluten who cares) but to merely be OPEN MINDFUL & remember your own health is important too. I mean, without your health, your living life with the flag half way up. Sickness and illness affects your mental mood, gives you a half empty look towards the day, and overall sickness is just negative. So let's avoid it, if gentically possible. For example, do not become addicted to cigarettes. Do not do drugs that will kill you. Do not drink to alcoholism. Occasionally wear some sunscreen for your skin. Go to the Doctor 1x per year. Go to the D...

Out of your League...

Image
Would anyone like to share the inner truthful secrets on how to date, "Out of your League?" Like a 14 seed in the NCAA Tournament whom beats the higher ranked, Goliath 3rd seeded team. Like any normal person, I personally do not want to settle for anything. An average job, an average city to call home, an average place to live. You know just average and enough to get by. That being said, sometimes something is better than nothing. But just like an OLYMPIC athlete striving for a Gold Medal, I want a Gold Medal Girlfriend. When? ASAP. How do we get there? The truth is as a single citizen, often I notice different attractive couples together eating, living, biking and driving in a metropolis city. This sounds sad, but sometimes I get a tad envious, when I see a shorter, uglier less talented man with a very attractive, slender beautiful girl or lady. Girls, have you ever been envious of one of your girlfriends boyfriends? It causes me to wonder, what am I doing wrong? What i...

The Rise to Adulthood

Image
The rise to Adulthood, is about handling more & more & more responsibility. That is what it boils down to. From Birth until Adulthood, it is just one pile of duties, dumped on top of another set of duties. Think about it. When you are a baby, what are your responsibilities? Zero. Your parents & Grandparents take care of you. Life is easy. When your 16, you have to do more on your own. You get a driver's license and are in charge of getting yourself to and from school, places and life. Then comes college and you're literally, "kicked" out of your childhood home. As college students your life responsibilities grow. You make your own decisions on course selection, living conditions, social clubs, etc. After graduation as a twenty-something you've got even more to handle. The Rise to Adulthood climbs the Mountain. As a twenty something your forced to work and pay for you own life. Work is real! Life costs money, and as the growing adult, you learn th...

Is Love Blind?

Image
Do you think LOVE is Blind? By this we mean, do you think it is possible to find affection despite human race differences. For example an Asian man with a caucsasin blonde wife. For example a brunette jewish girl married to a Latin king? For example a 52 year old man married to a 21 year old sweetheart girl. A 6' 8 inch tall basketball player with a spinner girlfriend of 5'1 inch? Sometimes couples run the SPECTRUM. Do you think age, race, religion, height, or ethnicity plays a factor in finding love? Or do you believe LOVE Is blind and that one's INNATE physical attraction and brain does the selection. Say a Dawinism-esque view towards acquiring a loving partner. Some might consider love a "calculated long term choice?. How do you feel about this subject? Personally I would like to think that love can be found anywhere and is UNPREDICTABLE. In my personal career with the opposite sex have happily dated and conversed with the entire gamete of female domestic a...

The Best VACATION ever.

Image
Where, what and how did your "Best VACATION EVER" occur? Today let's be open mindful to taking a lifestyle break from the rat race to actually enjoy life. Are you a beach, mountain, city, foreign, or road trip type vacationer? Are you "OPEN MINDFUL" to different geographical settings for a vacation? Please tell me where your "BEST VACATION" occurred. Why was it so special? What happened? Personally, in my 3rd decade of living have been on 2 fairly epic vacations. the 1st, was when at the University of Texas graduate age of 22, my father and I flew into Cuba. Cuba was extremely different, fun, lively, beautiful, and cool. The tropical weather, beautiful women, and socialistic culture was fantastic to breath in 1st hand. Although the cars, buildings and exterior of Havana was aging quickly, the citizenry and vibe felt safe and easy going. I could see why the great writer Ernest Hemingway decided to call it home. Cuba had cigars, mopeds, nightlife,...

Brazen Confidence vs. Sublty Meek

Image
Do you prefer your fellow humans to be blazing with CONFIDENCE or to carry a subtle MEEK tone? For example, Muhammad Ali would be a prime example of the alpha male, with supreme confidence. Muhammad Ali, for the younger folks was arguably the best sporting boxer of all time. Ali, verbally reminded us of his glory in front of the cameras and microphones often. Throughout life, his supreme confidence, glowing humorous personality, and athletic prowess was backed up. He was man whom could, "talk the talk & also walk the walk". Ali's outlandish confidence was not a deterrent. He was a popular American favorite in society. An example of a powerful meek personality, would be perhaps one of the greatest golfers of all time, the lefty Phil Mickelson. While his counter part, Tiger Woods was the Media, Nike Logo man, Phil pleasantly took a back-seat. While Tiger Woods pumped his fist, stared down opponents, and eventually was outed as a womaninzng porn loving adulterer, ...

How to fix the "NEWS"

Image
Do you, our OPEN MINDFUL readership keep up with the NEWS? I do. Personally, I get my news from Cable Television channels, such as CNN, Headline News, etc, and the Local stations. In addition, I also consume and read news via twitter and facebook. As far as the best and most unbiased, honest news source, I highly recommend the AP (Associated Press) Here are the problems, and suggestions I have for the news networks and media sources in general. 1. We do not care about crime. Please do not glorify, or even cover crime. The 15 seconds of fame for these hate mongers, criminals, and murderers should cease. There is a reason, we intelligent citizens research safe neighborhoods and then decide to live in them. We moral souls, loathe crime and do not want any of our physical senses wasted on it. Stop covering crime! 2. Start Highlighting the success, failures and tribulations of American Entrepreneurship , the business world, and our local economies. Each media source should hi...

The differences between New York City, and Austin, Texas.

Image
People sometimes ask me to describe the main differences between Austin, Texas and New York City. Personally, you should understand that I am a native born Austonian. In so far as New York City, I resided there full-time in Midtown West, Manhattan for 5 years, every season. In addition, I hold a valid eligible real estate salesperson license in both states of Texas and New York. Hopefully, my opinions will not deter you from either spot, and will leave you with an OPEN MINDFUL opinion to both places. Lets describe New York City 1st. One major thing about living in Manhattan is the entirety of the walking culture. In my 5 year tenure there, I NEVER drove a car once, nor held an active driver's license. All transportation was walking, cab, subway or train. Also in New York City there are very long, enduring and cold winters. The winters often linger until late April. It gets annoying. If your not into the heavy jacket fashion look, don't move there. In NYC, bars, clubs ...

If your not moving forward, you might be going backwards.

Image
Do you keep up with POP CULTURE & CONTEMPORARY MODERN CULTURE, or do you not care at all? Modern Culture would be Chart Topping New Music, Food Fads & H&M Clothing. Do you lean more towards RETRO culture and classic cool? Retro Cool would be listening to Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, while wearing a pair of classic Michael Jordan sneakers. Are you up to date on the latest books, news, fashion, happenings, lifestyle tips and more? Or do you feel overwhelmed and just not bother with it? Either way, there is no wrong reason. It is a free country, you can do what you like. Personally, I think I am a combination of both new age and retro. Some of my 90's CD's, yes I still listen to compact discs in my car stereo, rock really hard! I mean I drove around while working and audio-ed to the Get Up Kids and Everclear today, which created a very high merriment level. As far as keeping up with it, I got new photo head-shots today, to be used for life in general....
